The Africa-Europe Science Collaboration and Innovation Platform (AERAP) is a stakeholder forum that brings together communities in Africa and Europe to define shared priorities for science and innovation cooperation.
The platform provides a framework for researchers, industry representatives and public-sector stakeholders to discuss research priorities, exchange knowledge and develop collaborative agendas. Its goals are to strengthen research and innovation, improve knowledge transfer and support scientific cooperation across both continents.
How the platform works
AERAP works through a network of stakeholders who come together in meetings, forums and thematic discussions. These activities connect scientific expertise with policy and research infrastructure priorities, helping participants identify areas of common interest and opportunities to work together.
The platform’s work developed from cooperation in radio astronomy and the wider policy context of science capacity building in Africa. Its agenda now encompasses a broad range of scientific themes.
Shared research priorities
